Scholarship Opportunities Available for Returning and Continuing Students

Students of all ages who are pursuing academic or vocational degrees can apply for a scholarship through the Carlsbad Foundation. Information and the online application will be available here on our Web site for the entire month of June. The deadline to apply will be June 30, 2025 and scholarships will be awarded prior to the start of the Fall 2025 Semester.

There are great opportunities for students studying in all areas. This includes not only academic degrees, but vocational certifications for construction and all vocational/technical fields. A significant number of scholarships are also available for students seeking their RN or advanced nursing degrees, both at SENMC and other schools.

To be eligible, you must be a current or former RESIDENT of South Eddy County (Carlsbad, Loving, Otis, Malaga and Queen only).

While the online application will not open until June 1, you can start preparing by gathering information you will need. For more details, click on the link at left to our Scholarship Page!

The Foundation is proud to announce the award of 144 scholarships with a value of more than $160,000 to local students in South Eddy County. The scholarships were recently presented at two ceremonies, one in Loving and one in Carlsbad.

The Foundation will soon be offering scholarships for returning or continuing students (college or vocational school students). The online application will be available on our website from June 1-30, 2025.

Tributes

In memory of Patricia Stanley
The family of Patricia Stanley has requested Tribute gifts in her memory be made to the Imogene and Everett Memorial Scholarship in lieu of flowers. The fund was established in her parent’s name in 2022 and Patricia is recognized as a Foundation Benefactor. We offer our condolences to all of her family and friends.

In memory of Larry Henderson
In lieu of flowers, Tribute gifts in memory of Larry Henderson may be made to the Founders Fund. Larry served on our Board of Directors from 2010-2016 and led our organization as Board President in 2014-15. Prior to his service to the Foundation, he was the recipient of the Foundation’s Humanitarian Award in 2009, highlighting his active community involvement. For many years he was a champion for Carlsbad and all of us who live here. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife Signe and all of their family and friends.
