GRANT OPPORTUNITY OPENS EARLY – Nonprofit organizations are invited to apply online for a Chevron Catalyst Grant! Typically, the online application opens on October 1 each year, but in recognition of Community Giving Week, the Foundation has made the online application available early! Chevron established the fund in 2016 and the Foundation has awarded grants each year since 2018. The awards support diverse charitable needs in the community and usually range from $500 to $5,000. We hope this encourages more nonprofits to apply. The application will remain open until October 31, 2021 and grant checks will be distributed in February 2022. Shown in the photo from the award presentation in February are Chevron’s Beverly Allen, Foundation Board President Vicki Moutray, and Belinda Lopez and Sherra Hester from the Southeast New Mexico Community Action Corporation.
We offer our sincere condolences to the family of Gene Hood. In 2012, Gene and his wife Kathy accepted the Foundation’s Pioneer Award in recognition of their longstanding commitment to the community. In lieu of flowers, his family has requested donations to the Foundation. To make a tribute gift in his memory, please click here.
The Foundation is honored to accept memorial contributions in tribute to Mildred Campbell. She was active in the community and was awarded the Foundation’s Special Recognition Award in 1998. Our condolences to her family and friends. To make a donation in her memory, please click here.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Janell Whitlock has requested donations in her memory to the Louis Whitlock Scholarship Fund. In addition to her many other community activities, Janell was a former Board Member and Past President at the Foundation. She will be greatly missed by many. To make a donation, please click here.
